Arwrology defined
ARWROLOGY (pronounced R-ology) is derived from the old Welsh word, Arwr meaning hero, All-Out Hand-to-Hand fighter. Thus Arwrology is defined as the science of All-Out Hand-to-Hand Fighting.
History of Arwrology
Arwology, written in 1943 by Dr. Gordon Perrigard, was for the military fighting man to help the war effort. Arwrology was his interpretation of military hand-to-hand fighting based on his extensive knowledge of Samurai Jiu-Jitsu and the human anatomy as it applied to medical science.
In 1946 Dr. Perrigard's Arwrology was deemed too violent by Canadian officials and banned. The publishing house was raided and the original manuscripts along with the platelets were destroyed. Dr.Gordon Perrigard along with his loyal instructors of the Canadian Society of Arwrologists went underground until the year 2000.
In 2000 Dr. Gordon Perrigard passed away at the age of 85. Then in 2001 a special caucus of the Canadian Society of Arwrologists inaugurated the American Society of Arwrologists, naming Robert C. Kasper Founder and 1st. Regent,
American Society of Arwrologists
Robert Kasper at that time was the Founder and Director of the Gung-Ho Chuan Association (GHCA). The GHCA is a WW2 Close-Combat research organization that trains and instructs the fighting principles and tactics utilized by the USMC Raiders and the Elite Allied Forces during WW2. Since 2001 Dr.Perrigard's principles and techniques have been incorporated into the GHCA's Close Combat Program of Instruction.
In July 2006 Robert Kasper was diagnosed with brain and lung cancer. Due to his failing health and terminal diagnosis he named his successor, Fred Bauer.
American Arwrology the book
The book, dedicated to Dr. Perrigard and Robert Kasper is an attempt to start the student/reader in the study of all-out hand-to-hand fighting. Its main purpose is to give an understanding of the philosophy and techniques of Dr. Perrigard and Robert Kasper. The work includes the principles of auto condition reflex; training both sides and the endless knot. There are also conditioning drills, such as body whips, knee blow and wall drills. No matter what fighting system you are training in today the principles, techniques and drills included in the book will be beneficial and a great supplement for you system. The completion of this book was guided by two promises: a promise Bauer made to Robert Kasper to honor his request that the book American Arwrology be completed and the promise Bauer make to himself to complete it in a manner that would honor the legacies of Dr. Gordon Perrigard and Robert C. Kasper.
